Taylor grew up in Colorado with a steadfast of quality cowboy gear. His grandfather, Don Meeske, was a renowned bit and spur maker in the front range region of Colorado. He spent many days with his grandfather making various things in his shop. Parallel to learning how to create things with his grandfather; Taylor’s mother, Tammy Meeske, is an accomplished artist in the local communities also. Tammy is an owner of the Blue Pony Gallery in Old Colorado City, Colorado. Between these two major influencers, Taylor has crafted a passion and eye for creating functional and artistic leather goods.

Graduating from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska; Taylor obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in advertising and marketing. This has given him the skills to manage and grow this business in a competitive industry. After graduating, Taylor moved back to Colorado where he opened his first retail front at the Latigo Event Center in Elbert. Beginning in 2019, he experienced his first big level of growth. He built a new shop just down the road in Peyton, CO. After 2 years of running the production shop and the retail front he made the choice to close the retail front and move towards the mobile tack trailer model. In November of 2021, Taylor bought his first tack trailer.

TM Leather and Saddlery has grown to be able to attend local and national AQHA, NRCHA, and team roping events. Taylor has narrowed down to specialize in the reined cowhorse and team roping markets. His unique floral designs have been a staple across the country.

You will notice two different maker marks that TM Leather and Saddlery sells. Under the TM Leather makers mark all items are made in house but are created by one of Taylor’s skilled craftsmen. The Signature Series mark, Taylor Meeske, Taylor carves and creates these top shelf items himself. With a limited supply of Signature Series items available the demand remains extremely high.
